I don't smoke,I have never smoked, but IMHO if "they" ban smoking in Cincinnati it will be another clod of dirt on the coffin of that city.

When we had very little government, we had Adams, Jefferson, Monroe and the like. Now that we have huge government, naturally the quality base isn't there to fill all positions, furthermore we have the same phenomena one sees in public education best described as "the bad drive out the good".

I don't smoke, and I'll admit that I am very happy with CT's state ban on smoking in restaurants and bars, albeit for selfish reasons. I'm an asthmatic and it now means I can go out and enjoy myself instead of worrying about an inconsiderate smoker.

That said, I dislike the big government aspect of smoking bans. Just because I like a new law because it benefits me doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do.

hmmm. Previous posts describe this situation as 'tyranny of the majority' and rail against 'democracy' but you are citing just the opposite.
